Autostrade Alto Adriatico recorded
up to 3 thousand transits per hour towards Venice and up to
2,900 towards Trieste, because the counter-exodus on the A4
highway. Today traffic volumes are close to those of Saturday a
year ago, when 180 thousand transits were touched at the end of
the day.
The expected wave of vehicles returning from Slovenia and
Croatia was recorded at the Trieste/Lisert gate, with a maximum
peak of about 6 kilometers queue around 2 p.m. and the passage
of about 16 thousand vehicles, the Concessionaire reported. But
Autostrade Alto Adriatico's cooperation with Dars in Slovenia
worked. Vacationers were advised by variable message signs on
alternative routes back to Italy, via the H4 (Podnanos-Vrtoiba)
- A34 (Gorizia - Villesse) bypass. A traffic jam of 3 kilometers
is currently at the Lisert barrier and nearly 8 thousand
vehicles have entered Villesse so far. The cooperation with Dars
is going to continue tomorrow and next weekend.
Traffic on the A4 highway was very heavy today but no
particular critical issues have occurred so far, Autostrade Alto
Adriatico reported.
