Eurostat reported today that the
eurozone's unemployment rate was 6.4% in August 2024, remaining
stable from July. In the EU, it decreased to 5.9% from 6% in
July. Spain (11.3%) and Greece (9.5%) showed higher values,
while Poland (2.9%) and Malta (3%) had the lowest. Italy's 6.2%
is lower than the Eurozone average. Youth unemployment has risen
to 14.3% in the EU (from 14.5%) and 14.1% in the Eurozone (from
14.2%).
