A Slovenian Armed Forces
helicopter with a crew will be deployed to North Macedonia on
Thursday to assist in the fight against wildfires, according to
a decision made by the government last night, Slovenian news
agency Slovenska tiskovna agencija (Sta) reports today. Slovenia
sent two crewed helicopters to the country in mid-July to help
with the firefighting efforts.
Extensive wildfires raging in North Macedonia, particularly
in the country's northern, eastern, and southern regions, have
claimed lives and caused significant property damage. Given the
forecasts, the situation could worsen further, according to the
Defence Ministry.
