"I thank the police and the
Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi because he managed to
ensure controls without creating problems at the borders," said
Friuli Venezia Giulia President Massimiliano Fedriga today in
Trieste, in response to journalists' questions about the
controls in place at the border crossings with Slovenia. "A
functional organisation that has also resulted in significant
results, such as the number of smugglers stopped and arrested,
which is an important result in the fight against human
trafficking," he stated. When asked if controls would be removed
for Go!2025, Fedriga responded, "No, they will continue next
year - he said - because they allow easy circulation anyway."
