The Municipality of Pordenone
and the Municipality of Varna, in Bulgaria, are participating in
the City-to-City Exchange project titled "Pordenonext:
attracting new talents and becoming a welcoming city for young
people who study and work," funded by the European Union through
the European Urban Initiative programme.
A delegation from the Municipality of Pordenone visited Varna
at the end of June to learn about the urban regeneration
processes in the city (with a population of approximately
400,000) related to the development of its university area. The
exchange aims to provide useful insights for Pordenone, which is
preparing to revitalize degraded urban areas in the city center
(such as the Galvani Management Center and the former brewery
area) to become an attractive center for university and higher
education students.
From today until Wednesday, July 31, Pordenone will host a
Bulgarian delegation, showcasing its urban planning strategies
and facilitating meetings with stakeholders.
