(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 31 - Pope Francis departed for a visit to
the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan on Tuesday on
an ITA-Airways papal flight that took off for Kinshasa with over
70 journalists on board.
It is the 40th Apostolic Journey abroad of his pontificate and
his fifth to Africa.
The pope originally planned to go on the trip in July 2022 but
had to postpone it due to a knee problem.
He will be in the Democratic Republic of Congo until Friday and
then spend three days in South Sudan. (ANSA).
