(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 1 - Actor, director and screenwriter James
Franco on Sunday visited Florence's Uffizi Gallery and was
"enraptured" by Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli's iconic
masterworks, the museum said, explaining the Hollywood star's
visit lasted over two hours.
Franco in particular admired every painting made by the
Renaissance genius (1445-1510), including The Birth of Venus (c.
1484) and The Spring (c.1482).
Franco was in Florence to present his latest film Hey Joe, a
drama in which the actor plays a US Navy sailor stationed in
post-World War II Naples. (ANSA).
