(ANSA) - Cagliari, December 18 - A 50-year-old worker survived a spectacular fall with only a fractured shoulder after slipping from a radio tower in San Basilio near Cagliari, Sardinia, the largest in Europe, and falling a dozen metres before he was left hanging 40 metres off the ground. A safety peg in the ladder on which he was working reportedly stopped his fall. Fire fighters rescued him, though the operation to save him and take him down on a gurney reportedly took over an hour and a half. The man is being treated at a local hospital and is not in serious condition.
