(see related story) (ANSA) - Genoa, December 19 - The judge who authorised a prison-leave permit for a serial killer who subsequently took flight said Thursday that her decision was legitimate. Bartolomeo Gagliano, a 55-year-old convicted of three murders and an attempted murder in the 1980s, went missing while on leave for good behaviour Tuesday. "The permit was issued on legitimate foundations, after a long study of reports that said for some time there had been a balancing of the psychiatric disorder, lucidity, capacity to cooperate, tranquility and no signs of being psychopathic," said judge Daniela Verrina.
