Students were horrified to discover the carcass of a skinned European roe deer hanging from a tree in Turin's city center on Monday, ANSA sources said.
The students, who attend a high school nearby, called
police and firefighters who removed the carcass.
The roe deer is a small species known for its reddish coat
and little white tail.
Police said the incident may have been a student prank.
Still, animal scientists from the University of Turin were
going to examine the carcass, found hanging about three metres
off the ground, to try to learn more about what happened.
