The world skiing championships will
take place in 2021 after all despite Italy asking for a one-year
postponement to 2022, the winter sport's ruling body FIS said
Thursday.
Sources at Cortina said earlier this week they had not let up in
preparing the event and were ready to stage it on schedule if
needed.
Italian skiing authorities had asked to put off the
championships due to the coronavirus.
Veneto Governor Luca Zaia said Tuesday that "2022 remains the
best solution".
