The government on Wednesday approved COVID vaccine mandates for the over-50s in Italy. Anyone in Italy who is over 50 will be obliged to get the COVID jab, sources said.
The so-called Super Green Pass will be used to check that workers have had the jab.
Premier Mario Draghi mediated between rightwing parties who wanted the madate age threshold to be over 60 and leftwing parties who wanted a vaccine mandate for all workers.
