A 16-year-old boy was beaten up by
his uncle and hospitalised on International Anti-Homophobia Day
on Tuesday because he is gay, ARCI Cosenza president Silvio
Cilento said on Facebook Thursday.
The boy suffered four broken ribs, a deviated nasal septum, and
various other injuries.
The uncle told the boy "we don't want queers in our family"
before the beating, in which he enlisted the help of three other
men, and after taking the boy home from hospital told him "now
you can die at home", said Cilento.
The incident, which happened near Cosenza, has been reported to
the police.
