Some 300 Italian high-school students
from three Vicenza licei struck on Friday protesting what they
called "sexist, fat-phobic and paternalistic" remarks by the
Fogazzaro Liceo's head teacher against some girls there.
The Fogazzaro students were joined by those from the liceo
Pigafetta and the liceo Quadri.
The students held up placards including one saying "we are
striking for your good taste".
The head teacher reportedly made disparaging remarks about
overweight girls sporting skimpy clothing.
She also sanctioned students who were found to have breached the
liceo's dress code.
