Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson
Maria Zakharova said Tuesday that Rome was being pushed to
"economic suicide" by the "frenzy" of Western sanctions on
Moscow following the invasion of Ukraine.
In a post on Telegram, Zakharova said Italian firms were set to
be "destroyed by their 'brothers from across the Ocean'" because
American companies are paying "seven times less for electricity
than Italian ones".
"Sanctions have become an instrument of unfair competition," she
said.
"When the Italian firms collapse they will be bought at a good
price by the Yankees".
