A young policewoman was attacked and
raped after finishing her shift at a Naples police station
overnight.
The woman was hit in the head with a stone and sexually
assaulted, apparently after being followed by her assailant as
she walked to where her car was parked in the area of the city's
port.
The victim was taken to Naples' Cardarelli hospital for
treatment and discharged early on Thursday.
The alleged rapist, a Bangladeshi national, was arrested and is
accused of attempted homicide as well as aggravated sexual
violence.
