Niko Romito, Massimo Bottura and
Heinz Beck stayed top of the Italian culinary world in the
latest Gambero Rosso rankings of Italian restaurants out Monday.
Romito's Reale eatery at Castel di Sangro near L'Aquila in
Abruzzo again topped the ratings with 96 points followed by
Bottura's Osteria Francescana at Modena with 95 and Beck's La
Pergola at the Hotel Rome Cavalieri with 94.
Three more restaurants got the coveted Three Forks rating taking
the total of top-rated eateries to 44: Casa Perbellini at
Verona, Antica Osteria da Cera at Campagna Lupia near Venice,
and e Signum Regno in the centre of the island of Salina, in the
Aeolian Islands, run by young fisherwoman-chef Martina Caruso.
