A bow-and-arrow murder in Genoa Monday
night was racially motivated, Italian police said Friday.
Before he loosed his home-made bow against 41-year-old Peruvian
building labourer Javier Alfredo Miranda Romero, they said,
63-year-old shipwright Evaristo Scalco shouted at the victim and
a co-national who were making noise below his balcony "Go away,
sh**ty immigrants".
The bow, used for boar hunting, was a "deadly weapon", police
said after charging Scalco with premeditated murder aggravated
by racial hatred.
