A 16-year-old Egyptian-Italian girl
was beaten by her Egyptian father and hospitalized in Brescia
Sunday night after posting a video without her veil on TikTok,
the Giornale di Brescia newspaper reported Monday.
The father was irked after relatives in Egypt saw the video and
told him about it, according to the report.
He slapped his daughter and punched her in the back, the
Giornale di Brescia said.
The girl managed to message a friend who called emergency
services.
She was taken first to hospital and then to a shelter.
The father has been placed under investigation on suspicion of
domestic violence.
