Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni
expressed her solidarity with Elly Schlein after anti-semitic
graffiti directed at the newly-elected Secretary of the
Democratic Party was spotted on a wall in Viterbo on Thursday.
"Schlein...your face is already a macabre fate" read the
graffiti, accompanied by a swastika.
In a note issued by Palazzo Chigi, the Premier said the
"shameful and ignoble" graffiti "is a gesture to be condemned
with absolute determination."
Lawmakers from across the political spectrum have sent messages
of support to Schlein.
