The Olympic Village for the 2026
winter games at Cortina and Milan will be built in the town of
Fiames and will cost some 36 million euros, Cortina Mayor
Gianluca Lorenzi said Wednesday.
It will consist of temporary dwellings and will have
'1,200-1,300 beds, he announced with "great satisfaction.
"We are talking about 1,200-1,300 places, we have asked Mi-Co
(the Milan-Cortina project) to check, 100 or 200 places make a
difference.
"And we have to consider also the whole security sector, police,
finance guards and Carabinieri: we have to understand how to
involve them in the situation because they are fundamental in
the execution of the Olympics".
