There was a trilateral between Premier
Giorgia Meloni, European Commission President Ursula von der
Leyen and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on the sidelines of
the 50-nation European Political Community summit in Moldova
Thursday, political sources said.
There has been as yet no official confirmation of the agenda but
Rutte, upon arrival at the summit, voiced the hope he could
consult with Meloni on the migrant dossier and in particular on
the political and economic crisis in Tunisia that is swelling
migrant flows form the north African country.
Meloni, for her part, is seeking EU help in receiving and
redistributing migrants, whose numbers have increased
dramatically since she took over in October.
