Pope Francis tweeted on World Refugee Day Tuesday that countries should welcome refugees and asylum seekers without excuses or delays.
"Thinking of Christ present in so many desperate people fleeing conflicts and climate change, the problem of hospitality needs to be confronted together, without excuses and without delay, because the effects will be felt, sooner or later, by all of us.
#WithRefugees," said Francis.
The pope has repeatedly urged global authorities to do more to save refugees, especially on the deadly central Mediterranean route from Africa to Italy.
