It is not up to Italy to interfere in
Russia amid a rebellion by mercenary group Wagner, Foreign
Minister Antonio Tajani said Saturday.
"It's not up to us to interfere. Just as we say that Russia
can't interfere in the internal situation of a country (like
Ukraine), we can't do so either. We haven't waged war against
Russia, we aren't against Russia, we contest the violation of
international law on the part of Putin who is leading the
Federation at this time.
"We have only supplied instruments to Ukraine to defend its
territorial integrity. Because the loss of Ukraine's territorial
integrity would have meant having the Russians ready to invade
other countries of the former Soviet Union".
