An outcry has been sparked after
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli compared buying
the wrong footballer to getting a girlfriend and then finding
out she was no good because she didn't do domestic chores like
the washing, the cooking and ironing.
The centre-left opposition Democratic Party (PD) said Giuntoli's
allegedly sexist remarks "would be hard to comment on even if
they were made down the pub" and said "sadly the soccer world
seems to be doing its all to habituate us to the worst".
PD sports pointman and MP Mauro Berruto called on Juve to "take
a stance" on the case.
