The son of an Israeli-Italian couple killed in Hamas's October 7 attack on southern Israel said Tuesday that he thought peace with the Palestinians was possible but never with the Islamist militant group that killed his parents.
"Peace with Palestine is possible, but not with Hamas. Never with Hamas," Nadav Kipnis, son of Eviatar and Lilach, the Italian-Israeli couple kidnapped from the kibbutz of Be'er in the attack and later killed by Hamas, told ANSA.
"First of all, I would like to say that the two Israeli-American women who were released are two distant relatives of mine," Kipnis went on.
"And I'm happy for them, but I want to say that these images that are going around (in which a released hostage shakes hands with a kidnapper and says 'shalom') could be fake.
"Since they have killed, kidnapped and raped people, we cannot expect them to be so generous." A third and last missing Italian-Israeli, 29-year-old Nir Forti, was also killed by Hamas, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said MOnday night.
