(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 25 - Carabinieri police in the northern
provinces of Milan and Varese on Wednesday staged a big
anti-mafia operation in which they executed 11 arrest warrants,
seized assets worth more than 225 million euros, and served
notification to 153 suspects that investigations into them had
been concluded.
These notifications are usually served before prosecutors
request indictments.
The suspects allegedly have links to the Cosa Nostra,
'Ndrangheta and Camorra crime syndicates.
The operation sought to target the mafia clans' systems to
manage their financial resources in Lombardy.
Over 600 Carabinieri were employed in dawn raids and 60
properties were searched. (ANSA).
