Italy's Antitrust authority on Friday
warned Rome, Milan and Naples on taxis, telling the councils to
raise the number of licenses issued to meet demand.
Taxis have become increasingly scarce and difficult to book in
Italy's large cities lately.
The authority sent the municipalities of Rome, Milan and Naples
"a report on the criticalities found in the provision of taxi
services to the detriment of users, in terms of quality and
efficiency of the service rendered," it said in a statement.
It urged the three municipalities to "adapt the number of
licences to demand."
