A 17-year-old Sri Lankan boy who
allegedly killed a 17-year-old Roman girl and dumped her body in
a supermarket trolley in the Italian capital in June was
indicted for an 'immediate' trial on Friday.
Italy is enduring a wave of femicides this year, with some 106
women murdered, most by their current or former partners.
The boy allegedly killed Michelle Maria Causo in Rome's
Primavalle district on June 28 and then tried to dispose of the
body by leaving it in a shopping trolley in the street.
The judge of the Juvenile Court accepted the prosecutor's
request and set the trial for 6 February.
The defendant is charged with aggravated murder, including
premeditation, concealment and desecration of a corpse.
It later emerged that Causo, from Primavalle, had been raped in
2020.
