Filippo Turetta, the 21-year-old
student who has confessed to murdering his 22-year-old ex
girlfriend Giulia Cecchettin, told prosecutors Friday that he
had wanted her for himself even after the end of their
relationship and he had committed a terrible murder.
"I loved her, I wanted her for myself, I did not accept that it
was over," Turetta reportedly said to prosecutor Filippo Turetta
during the nine-hour interrogation.
The young man, who was on the same Padua University biomedical
engineering course as Giulia, is said to have wanted to "pay and
serve the sentence for my responsibility for a terrible murder".
