Premier Giorgia Meloni told a plenary
session of the COP28 UN climate change summit in Dubai Saturday
that we need a breakthrough on the climate crisis, and all
countries should act sensibly to try to avert catastrophe.
"This is a key moment in our effort to keep temperatures within
1.5 degrees: although there are reasons to be optimistic the
target is far away, Cop28 must be a turning point", she said.
"We are asked to set a clear direction," she added, "and to act
in a reasonable but concrete way."
