Italy's attention on terrorism must
remain high, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi said Sunday
after Saturday night's attack in Paris when a 26-year-old
French-Iranian man stabbed to death a 24-year-old German tourist
shouting Allahu Akhbar under the Eiffel Tower and later told
police he could no longer tolerate the civilian death toll in
Gaza.
"We trust in our traditional system of prevention, however,
attention must remain high," the interior minister said in
Naples.
The events that occurred, for Piantedosi, "simply confirm that
the attention we have put in place must be there.
"From the first findings and news, the episode confirms that it
is a very insidious threat because it is not always fully
intercepted", he said.
