The Vatican has refused funding for
its Rome children's hospital Bambino Gesù offered by Italian
aerospace and defence sector giant Leonardo.
The Holy See said Pope Francis had reiterated his condemnation
of the global arms trade.
International Catholic peace movement Pax Christi welcomed the
Vatican's decision saying it was a "coherent choice".
Sources said Leonardo, formerly called Finmeccanica, had offered
a million and a half euros to the prestigious kids' hospital.
