Finance police on Thursday executed
arrest warrants against 15 people suspected of mafia
association, usury, drugs crimes and money laundering as part of
a nationwide anti-mafia operation coordinated by the authorities
in the Sicilian city of Catania.
In total 26 people have been placed under investigation in the
probe.
Arrests were carried out in the regions of Sicily, Campania,
Tuscany and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
In all, 120 finance police officers were deployed.
