Premier Giorgia Meloni said "he's the
real one" on greeting African Union commission president Moussa
Faki at Rome's Africa summit Monday referring to a September
prank call by two Russian comics pretending to be Faki who drew
the Italian PM into a frank and previously publicly undeclared
expression of doubt over Ukraine war fatigue.
The premier's office diplomatic advisor, Francesco Talò,
resigned over the embarrassing incident.
Meloni, in taking press photos with Faki, pointed to him with
her left thumb and said "he's the real one".
