The father of Ilaria Salis, a
39-year-old Italian antifascist detained in Hungary since last
February on suspicion of attacking two neo-Nazi militants, told
ANSA Monday his daughter was being treated like an animal.
"My daughter is being treated like an animal', Roberto Salis
told ANSA about the first hearing in which his daughter Ilaria
was made to enter the courtroom in Budapest with her hands and
feet chained and dragged by a prison guard.
"We have not been joking for 11 months but are telling the
facts," he continued.
"The point is that both politicians and the government and also
many newspapers pretend not to see and keep talking about
whether she is guilty or not, leaving in the background the fact
that there is a shameful violation of civil rights."
