The second night of the 2024 Sanremo
Song Festival attracted an average of 10,361,000 viewers or
60.1% of the TV audience share.
That was slightly lower than the same night in 2023, when
average viewers stood at 10.6 million, equal to 62.3% of the
share.
The first part of the second evening of the annual televised
musical jamboree garnered 13.4 million viewers with a 57.6%
share.
Instead the second part was watched by 6.9 million viewers,
equal to 66.2%.
In 2023 the second night garnered 14.9 million viewers for the
first part, or 61.1% of the share, and 6.4 million viewers for
the second part, the equivalent of 65.6% of the share.
Highlights of the second evening included a moving appearance by
Italian pianist and composer Giovanni Allevi, who played to an
audience for the first time in nearly two years after his
diagnosis with multiple myeloma, a chronic blood cancer, in
2022.
Co-conductor an singer Giorgia also received a standing ovation
for her rendition of 'E poi' on the 30th anniversary of her
interpretation of the song that launched her career at Sanremo
in 1994 and of a medley of her biggest subsequent hits, closing
with 'Come saprei', the song that won the music festival in
1995.
Artistic director Amadeus is presenting the festival for the
fifth time.
