Italy captain Sara Gama is making her
last appearance for the national team in Friday's friendly
against Ireland in Florence.
The Juventus centre-back is saying farewell to international
football after almost 18 years. She is representing Italy for
the 140th time against Ireland.
"I gave everything and got back many great moments," said Gama,
who turns 35 in March.
"Now is the right time to leave the national team after a great
run in the Nations League, in which we showed our true
potential.
"My teammates will do everything to take Italy as far as
possible because they have what it takes to do so".
