Several carmakers may come to Italy where unusually only one manufacturer, Stellantis, makes cars, Industry ad Made in Italy Minister Adolfo Urso said Tuesday commenting on reported interest from Chinese e-car maker BYD.
"We have contacts with several car manufacturers," said Urso, responding to a question on a possible contact with BYD.
"We have been working since the beginning of the legislature," he continued, "to improve the country's attractiveness.
"This also applies to the automotive sector.
"We are the only car-producing country in Europe that has only one manufacturer".
