The Israeli government has withdrawn
its candidate to be its new ambassador to Rome, Benny Kashriel,
the former mayor of the West Bank settlement of Ma'ale Adumim,
"after the refusal of the Italian government", Israeli daily
Ynet reported on Thursday.
The Israeli government is considering nominating Yoni Peled, its
initial candidate to be its ambassador to Budapest, for the Rome
post, and switching Kashriel to Hungary, the daily said.
