The Spring equinox ushered in a good
weather spell across much of Italy on Wednesday, with sunshine
and temperatures of up to 25 degrees Celsius forecast at least
for the next two-three days.
The high pressure is expected to break down starting on Friday
afternoon, with showers in the south.
Over the weekend a mass of cold air is expected to arrive
directly from the Arctic, bringing cloudbursts to the north and
snowfall in the Alps.
On Sunday strong winds are forecast across the country and
especially in Sicily, Sardinia, the Alps and the central
Apennines.
In the central regions of Lazio and Abruzzo, snow is also
forecast above 1,100-1,300 m with heavy rain at lower altitudes.
