Italy beat Ecuador 2-0 in an
international friendly match at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison,
New Jersey, on Sunday with goals in the first half from Lorenzo
Pellegrini and Niccolò Barrella.
"Tonight we were a team, in every phase of the game. You can
attack more, or defend more, but the important thing is always
to be a team," coach Luciano Spalletti told RaiSport after the
last game in Italy's US tour.
"The boys showed they were serious, and the opponent in this
match was a big one," he added.
Spalletti said the tour had been "excellent for the seriousness
of the boys, the organisation of the federation, which faced
many difficulties, (and) the individual responses of the
players".
