University Minister Anna Maria
Bernini has contacted Italy's chief of police Vittorio Pisani
for an exchange of views on how to mange the mounting protests
in Italian universities over the impact on the civilian
population in Gaza of Israel's war against Hamas sparked by the
October 7 terror attacks, ANSA reported on Tuesday.
The pair are to meet in the coming days.
The meeting will reportedly serve to assess how best to
intervene in order to combine the right to freedom of expression
and security after the minister said recent student
demonstrations including Naples, Turin, La Sapienza and Genoa
allegedly had beyond the bounds of peaceful protests.
