The interior ministry said Friday
that Italy will bring back border controls around the June 13-15
G7 summit in Puglia, from June 5-18.
"The national land, sea and air borders, as per established
practice by States on the occasion of similar events, will be
temporarily subject to controls", it said.
The suspension of the ordinary regime of freedom of movement
within the Schengen Area is activated in application of Articles
25 and 27 of EU Regulation 2016/399 of 9 March 2016.
The reintroduction of border controls will take place from 14:00
on 5 June to 14:00 on 18 June 2024.
