Milan's Politecnico is the top Italian
university in the annual QS rankings, out Tuesday night.
The Milanese uni is up 12 spots from 123rd to 11th in the world.
Among Italian universities, it is followed by Rome's La
Sapienza, up two to 132nd, and the University of Bologna, up 21
to 133rd.
The rankings are led for the umpteenth year by the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (MIT), which is followed by Imperial
College London, up four from sixth to second, and the University
of Oxford, steady in third.
Harvard is up one form fifth to fourth while Cambridge is down
three form second to fifth.
Imperial's rise breaks the long dominance of Oxbridge at the top
of the British rankings.
