Marcell Jacobs said Monday he had
recovered from a hamstring twinge he felt as he powered to 100
metres gold at the European Athletics Championships in Rome
Saturday night and was now looking forward to leading Italy's
4x100 relay team to gold Wednesday night.
Like Jacobs, the Italians are reigning Olympic champions ad
favourites to win the title at the Olimpico.
Sprint coach Filippo Di Mulo said "the real goal is to repeat
our Tokyo triumphs at Paris 2024".
