Italy have shown they never give
up with Mattia Zaccagni's last-gasp goal in Monday's 1-1 draw
with Croatia that set up a clash against Switzerland in the
last-16 of Euro 2024, forward Stephan El Shaarawy on Wednesday.
"It was definitely a great emotion," El Shaarawy told reporters
before Saturday's game in Berlin referring to the crucial goal.
"We have the knowledge that this team never dies. It's great
joy.
"It wasn't an exceptional match (against Croatia) in terms of
quality, like it was (in the opening 2-1 win) against Albania,
but we deserved to qualify.
"We are a good team that can go all the way.
"We have a big responsibility. This team is just not made up of
(great) players but also of great men."
