An Italian transport and
infrastructure department chief was placed under investigation
Thursday on suspicion of graft in a probe that led to the arrest
of a Carabinieri general.
In the probe that led to the arrest of Carabinieri General
Oreste Liporace, the head of the department for general affairs
and digitalisation of the Ministry of Infrastructure and
Transport, Lorenzo Quinzi, was placed under investigation for
allegedly obstructing the freedom of tenders.
General Liporace, commander of the Carabinieri barracks at
Velletri south of Rome, allegedly granted favours in exchange
for bribes.
