Italians are set to spend 100 euros a
head in the summer sales that get under way this weekend,
fashion store group FISMO said in an IPSOS report Saturday.
According to the survey, some nine million Italians will hit the
sales this weekend.
Turnover will be around one billion euro this weekend, rising to
3.5 billion euros by the end of the sales in just over a month's
time, FISMO said.
Shops expect sales to be in line with last year.
Some 55% of Italian consumers plan to take advantage of the
sales, the survey said.
