Italian President Sergio Mattarella
landed in Brasilia overnight to start a State visit to Brazil
that is set to last until Friday.
He is scheduled to meet his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio
Lula da Silva on Monday.
During the visit he will also travel to the areas hit by May's
floods in Porto Alegri, as well as going to Sao Paulo, Rio de
Janeiro and Salvador de Bahia.
It is the first visit by an Italian head of State to Brazil in
24 years.
